Jiwan Lee

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University's Population Studies and Training Center (PSTC), and an Affiliate at Columbia Center on Poverty and Social Policy (CPSP). 

My research examines how social policies shape poverty, economic security, and the health and well-being of families and children. Using quasi-experimental methods, I study the effects of safety net programs, particularly paid family leave and income support policies such as the Child Tax Credit. My work aims to inform the design of more effective and equitable policies that reduce socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities.

I hold a Ph.D. in Social Policy from Columbia University School of Social Work. Previously, I worked at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA).
